YES. YOU can

Where I started

Chances are pretty good, that if I hadn't decided to change my life in 2006, this blog would not exist.  For that matter, I, most likely would not exist.  Pre 2006, I was moving full speed ahead into a casket.  I shoveled copious amounts of garbage food into my mouth, smoked like a train, and drank like a fish.  I decide I had enough.  I was tired of being fat. Honestly, I was not fat, I was obese.  On my 5 foot 5 frame I carried 220 pounds around.  I wore a size 16/18 dress( that was tight ).  I wore a size 18 pants ( getting tight ). I donned size XL or 40/42 size shirts ( they were not allowed in the dryer ).  I wore a size 40D bra.

Me today

XL used to be my size

Wearing a small today
I made some changes in my diet and my lifestyle.  Here are my stats today:  I haven't worn a dress yet, so I am not sure about size.  I wear a size 5/6 jeans ( just right ).  I can wear a size small shirt ( but am comfortable in a medium) .  I wear a 36C bra and weigh in at 148.

I wanted my first post here to show you that "I have been there".  I decided to take control of my life and my health.  It was not always easy, and sometimes it hurt a lot. But, I can say with all honesty, that it was totally worth every tear I shed and every bit of discomfort I experienced.

LivingOutLoud describes me to a T.  I am very passionate about life and what it has to offer. I have learned a lot over the last 6 years of my journey and feel compelled to share it all.  The good, the bad, and the ugly.  The time to live life is NOW.  What's stopping you?

You look great! :) As a female hopefully on the same path (was 210 lbs now at 175 lbs, got 25 lbs more to go), did you find the "girls" went down too? I'm trying to avoid a reduction surgery by losing weight.

Wow... Thanks for the responses, and so many for my first post. @ Anonymous, " the girls " will be the last to go. When I began I was breastfeeding and was a size 42D. Lots of push-ups and planks helped speed the process. Stay at it. As for the rest of you.... thanks. I feel pretty awesome too.

Wendy: I'm having such fun just knowing you. There is something building inside me that is saying "why not start living for yourself? And it sounds like the first step is taking control of your own health. You're an inspiration and I hope be able to celebrate *both* our journeys with you soon.
